overal oke game. There could be more enemies. The controls of specials was weird. give them a dedicated key, I dont want to press in game.

there was lots of show in the game after u completed a mission. It didnt really attract me, also I didnt understand the score list, I was always number one? why?

The amount of damage per weapon was also inbalanced imo. The shotgun was OP the assault hardly did damge to tanks.

I just didnt 'feel' it, but nevertheless a decent game. There is one MAYOR bug which in the end killed the game for me. After I died for the first time and I retried a level the old enemies would still be in the level. I was not able to kill them, but they would do damage to the building, making it impossible. I tried going back a level, but old enemies would still be there.

ErebosGames responds:

Thanks for the review! A dedicated button to launch the power-ups is a great idea, we'll add that in the next beta update.

You were at the top of the score list because the score list is only based on the arena that you are in. An arena can have a max of 25 players. All scores are in real-time, so you can compete against other players for high scores.

We just uploaded the latest version which fixed a few bugs - mainly it fixes the issue that you described where dying at a level essentially breaks the game.

Thanks again for your review!

funny looking game. controls are solid graphs and enemies oke.

but you cannot look far ahead, and it is also a puzzle game this makes some levels very difficult and annoying. especially since you have to restart THE WHOLE level after you die.. Why you no make checkpoints??

I think this is a major flaw in the game. you can solve it by 1. increae vision or 2 introduce chekcpoints.

at lvl 12 I stopped, not that I couldnt make that level after a few tries but because the game forces me to re-run a level over and over. Until I saw the whole level and know what to do.

its a flash game! youre not playing this on your PS3

I liked the game, it works. There are some bugs which I experienced later on after I got the assault rifle. soldiers tended to not attack me when I was detected, but I could also not kill them, atleast not untill I moved.

The neksnapping remained difficult through the end, maybe you could have made it a bit easier (e.g. from further away)

but again, funny game, nice story, good BG music. I did not finish it yet. stuck at the clone-boss.

a bit boring after a while. nothing new.

I played on 'normal' and ammo became such an issue. I went back to older levels but they also become harder and harder, and more and more zombies per level turn up also if you go back meaning you have to spend more ammo then you found.

at some point I just couldnt get through levels anymore, I was stuck with hardly any ammo.

I actually liked it.

first of for people who are compaining that the objective is not clear.. well the only real text in the game explains it quite well. I am not sure how this is unclear. If you dont read what the little girl has to say, yeah well it is a puzzle game so...

the whole atmosphere is pretty creepy. I jumped multiple times during the game. I loved the "JUMP!" voice awesome.

just well made.

I do not agree with the timer. These game should not be played on a time limit imo. its frustrating. I also had difficulty navigating. I had little idea where I was. The photos are good but cluttered. a player wasnt really drawn to locations that included a marble. thank god for the green arrow, but still could be made a bit easier?

ProgressivegamesDLE responds:

Thanks for the critique - we really appreciate it!
Nice to hear from someone who noticed the text at the beginning... ;) We might have to make stuff like that more obvious in future projects... And we love that you loved the JUMP voice - we like it, too.
As for timer issues, navigation and arrows - we are aware of the difficulties everyone's been having, and will definitely work on these areas in coming games. As we've noted in response to other comments, Cellar Door is a sort of beta test of elements that we want to incorporate into other games, so we'll definitely keep in mind the feedback that we've gotten on this one.
Thanks again for taking the time to comment. :)

I played this on armor games a week or so ago. It has it all, nice graphs, great sounds, good story, guns upgrades missions etc etc etc.

All has been said I think, so ill cut to the chase.

The controls! I dont know why you chose to make the controls like this, and it does work, but it get annoying in later levels. I played about an hour or so and things started to get a bit tougher then the controls really get in the way. again the controls work, defintily, but they just suck the fun out of the game imho. You get a bit frustrated and, in my case, rage quit.

For me the controls were a reason to stop with the game, but I would love to play this with normal wasd controls. maybe you can make such a version.

FlyAnvil responds:

Please, read th description. You can change the controls at the Map.

omg 2 days!! lozors

OT; nice game, I liked the controls reasonbly difficult to start with, but good with upgrades. every upgrade was neccessary. e.g. I needed the radar bad when I upgraded my egine to much, later u really needed armor upgrades etc. so I think you managed to create upgrades that are needed very well. Didnt see that before.

You can cheat a bit by flying diagonal, but even then difficulty is oke.

the back to menu button in the instructions section doesnt work!

all in all nice upgrade game. a tad boring and graphs arent great but good enogh

Long boring, no story at all. You can call it a love story but I dont see it. and I did finish the game. I actually died twice lol.

There seems to be some effort put into it. I did like the backgrounds, but those too got repetitive like the riding itself.

Music was ok at first but then annoying. I muted half way, luckily you did make a mute button.

so why didnt you atleast put in some text for the story? I am oke with story games in which the game isnt really the purpose, but the message. This however did not have any story at all..

sorry but to me this seems like a waste of your time.

potential

I liked the controls. good reaction on movement, reasonable story

but in the second level when u have to revive ur friend, I cant get past it. The birds keep commin from above so late that the next round starts and I cannot escape the level. I dont understand I had full specs and reasonable guns. I tried racing through the game so that there were little land enemies, but the birds just come in to late to kill before next round starts and thus you cannot leave the level.

tips?

its ok

Nothing new, but I do like these games. however this one was a bit simple imo. What really put me off was the fact that the music stopped after u reached each level.

for a music based game this game has a big lack of it. I want to enjoy the music, but by finishing a level I actually stop it. At the beginning I thought I would build up the music with each completed level, such should be how this game oughtta be made.

This imo made the game very lame and silly to play. I played with the same melody (maybe some different Sounds) in the background and then silence and then build up again.. well you get it.

good concept, but bad execution

God invented evolution 'cause he couldnt do it all by himself. visit http://awesome-tees. spreadshirt.nl/
