So I've been browsing Newgrounds so many years I don't really remember when I started. At the sign up date 11/7/02 I was 18 years old, I was probably 16 when I started browsing this site.

Today I have a good lonely night off. Nothing to do, no friends around and nothing on television. I scoured through some commonly know websites and I came to NG to pay my (nearly) daily visit.

My activity on NG is as unpredictable as a cornered cat. Sometimes I hang around on the BBS (although I read more then I post) sometimes I feel the need to judge freshly imported flash. It depends on what day, it depends on what time. I am currently in a period that I want to level up my voting power, so I daily deposit, as a good NG-er is supposed to, my voting points.

While I am drifting off to easier times I come to remember spending a whole week of 'studying for important exam time' (not even that long ago) to making a flash movie that I am now mildly ashamed for, but still up vote regularly.

I remember a time where I did not know, or kept track off, the slowly implemented rules around NG. This delivered me some banns in the past, but even though I like to be a bigot on the forums and slack on a review sometimes, I can now honestly say I understand and respect the NG rules. It is an important aspect of NG because it makes it, a site to come back to.

I can even go so far that I had, once upon a time, an emotional bond with this site. Now hold your horses I am not a freak, I just remember this long time ago; I was banned for a month by an unknown mod for posting something malicious. I felt wronged in this bann (in a period of active forum posting), I felt outraged. I even went so far as to mail and PM Tom to show my discontent. He replied, he sympathized. This quickly diluted my anger and I patiently awaited my time to post once more.

This worship to Fulp and friends, it is so surreal. Why would we care if he proposes? Why would we care whats going on in his life? Yet we care and we feel privileged when we come in contact with them. Like I felt when receiving Tom's reaction to my mail and having a debate with Wade on the BBS on September eleven (on the subject not the date). This affection shows the inherent social worth of this site, so common in type, so differentiated in appeal and binding.

I am not an NG buff, I don't take NG-brand beefcake shakes, but I do consider myself a fan. I have seen all the back pages and even check out NGmag now and then. I advice NG users to check out the Lit(erature) section. Its a enjoyable time waster.

But what is newgrounds without his frontpage? The daily updated (although lesser then before), often temporarily changed and amazingly striking (I have such a great dutch word for it, I cant translate it) frontpage. Here you are served your daily dose of 'time wasting' and I mean that in the most loving sense possible. I have seen epic movies and games come and pass, I have followed series, I have loved all the little novelties and complete changes in site appearance. I have seen the little short movies on the FP which I loved so much, and I have seen them disappear nowhere to be found on NG....

I have watched lots of movies, I have played lots of games, I have listened to music I have bought a NG cap, I have spent customizing my signature, I have had heavy and lite debates, I have searched through the collections, I have voted on lots, I have written short messages and I have written long ones, I have reached level 20, posses a silver whistle and I have a Police Lieutenant badge.

Newgrounds still keeps me coming back. year after year, and now I have this seemingly sea of time.

Now This evening I am going to sit back relaxed, ready my mouse, flex my index finger and enjoy the NewGrounds ride.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
